Area activities

The apartment is located on the west side of Split. It is very close to the Stadion Poljud which is multi-use stadium. I The stadium was built for the 1979 Mediterranean Games and is the home venue of the Hajduk Split football club, and it’s one of trademarks of Split.

Franciscan Monastery and church, complex dating back to the 15th century is located behind the football stadion in Poljud.

The “lungs of the city”, Marjan – hill, peninsula and Forest Park is located in the western part of the Split’s peninsula, and it is a penisula itself. Walk or run on Marjan is one of the favorite activities of Split’s inhabitants. Walk usually begins at the Marjan door, or at the first lookout from where you can climb to Telegrin, which is final cape of Marjan.

After 1800 meter long walk through paths, woods and racetrack, you arrive to bay of St. Benedict, or more known, Bene. In a small bay, facing northwest, you can find a restaurant and several playgrounds. During the summer, there is a slide, and the bay is full of swimmers.

Airports

Split Airport (IATA: SPU) (ICAO: LDSP), after Zagreb Airport, the most important in Croatia. Scheduled services fly to major European cities, with summer charter flights from more. The airport is about 25 km west from Split, near the city of Kaštela.

Other transport

The main bus station in Split is located in the heart of the town, next to the harbor and the main railway station, which makes it easy for travelers to transfer between different means of Transport.

Split train station is right in the city center, it is a few minutes’ walk from the port and from the old town.

The Port of Split is the main hub for local boats and hydrofoils in Central Dalmatia. Several a day run to and from Brac, Hvar, Solta, Vis, Korčula and Lastovo.
